It is difficult to pinpoint the exact age when an adult becomes a geriatric patient.  It is a gradual process that enforces the need for some kind of support by family or medical staff without which, the patient may be worse off.

ADULT DAY CARE

The Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm.

STRESS RELIEF CARE

ASC offers caregivers relief from the stress of caring for someone suffering from Alzheimer’s or other dementias in several ways. (1)Weekend respite care affords the caregivers relief by caring for their loved ones from Friday until Sunday. (2) Caregiver resource and media room is designed not only to educate through the use of unlimited supplies of reading materials, use of computer but to be a safe haven that can be used to look at television or just to relax in the massage chair.

OVERNIGHT RESPITE CARE

The Center provides overnight respite care services two or more weekends a month. Clients remain at the facility from Friday afternoon until Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT SERVICES

Monthly caregiver support group meetings allow the caregiver a chance to interact with other caregivers and to participate in sessions with speakers who address specific issues concerning the care, available treatments and expected outcomes of treatment for persons suffering with dementia.

MENTAL, PHYSICAL & SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Clients are involved in activities promoting involvement both socially and mentally. The Activity Director is responsible for scheduling daily activities and projects.

DIETARY SERVICES

The Center’s Dietary Manager is responsible providing daily meals for the clients. The Dietary Manager works within guidelines of a program officer from Georgia Dept. of Education to provide required nutritional needs.
